Level 2 – First Holy Communion

2021-2022 Queen of All Saints School of Religion – Level 2: First Communion Preparation Class

Catechist: Mrs. Marie Andre

Welcome!

This is the second year of the two year communion preparation program. By spring 2022 the students will be receiving the sacrament of first penance and reconciliation, and first eucharist also known as first holy communion.

It is imperative and very important that the students attend Sunday mass, and class, and that the parent/s or legal guardian attend Sunday mass, and the proximate sessions. This is the basic requirement so the children preparing for the sacraments will be drawn closer as they encounter the Lord in the sacraments and the church. After this year, students are expected to continue their ongoing formation in level 3 until they reach the age or grade level for confirmation as prescribed by the diocese.

During the course of the year we will be using the primary textbook published by Loyola Press entitled Finding God Our Response to God’s Gifts Grade 2 2021 edition,  along with additional handouts given during class, and or sent via email. In addition, you will receive the following supplemental resources: the St. Joseph Picture Books “My Picture Missal” published by Catholic Book Publishing, The Jesus StoryBook Bible published by Zondervan, and I Meet Jesus by Jean Vanier published by Paulist Press.

Stay connected with us and our parish – your home parish QAS.

Please do not hesitate to speak with us for any questions or concerns you may have. This is a collaborative effort. We are here to support and empower you as the primary catechist of your child.
